LIFE is CRICKET …………...(Similarities between Human Life and Game of Cricket)

Dear Cricket Lovers & Non-lovers,

Most of us & our relatives love cricket and enjoy watching it.

It has become a part of our life/society so much that even non-cricket watchers has to keep himself updated about Cricket so that he is not looked as outsider in social gatherings/meetings where Cricket topic suddenly gets started.

And for some persons (like True Cricketers and Die hard Cricket Fans) Cricket is Life.
But, today I want to share something interesting that concludes that Life is Cricket.

Yes, there are so many common things/similarities between Life and Cricket that proves my Subject Line (Life is Cricket).

One of the Biggest Similarity we all know is-
Cricket is called ‘Game of Uncertainty’, it is so uncertain that no cricket expert can predict what will happen next moment (next ball delivery)
Just like Life which is also very uncertain-unpredictable in terms of outcomes the life offers.

Now, Let’s know what the other similarities are……… (Courtesy: ‘GITA SAAR-Amrit Kalash’-A little Book on ‘The Bhagavad Gita’, the world's most spiritual scripture)
(Shocked na… Cricket being mentioned in spiritual books as well.. True..….Cricket is everywhere now-a-days…...)

1)
Cricket-The main character is Cricketer
Life-The main character is human being.

2)
Cricket-Wicket consists of 3 stumps on which 2 Bails are placed on top of these stumps.

Life-Human body is made of 3 Virtues/merits (Guna) (Sattva, Rajas, Tamas) on which Prana and Apan Vayu (2 Life forces) are based.

3)
Cricket-Cricketer plays his role (batting) with the Bat.
Life-Human being plays his role (behaves) with his Mind/Conscience (Vivek) [as Mind is the most powerful tool gifted to human being by God].

4)
Cricket-Cricketer faces Bowler.
Life-Human being faces (struggles with) Time (Kaal) [as Time is the most powerful force in the Universe].

5)
Cricket-There are 6 Balls in every over of a Bowler.
Life-There are 6 seasons in every year of human being [Spring (Vasant)-Summer (Grishma)-Monsoon (Varsha)-Autumn(Sharad)-Fall /Late Autumn/Early Winter (Hemanta)-Winter(Shishira)].

6)
Cricket-Cricketer (Batsman) has to keep in mind about 10 Fielders also besides Bowler
Life-Human being has to keep in mind (control over) about 10 Senses  (Indriyas) [Karmendriyas and 5 Jnanendriyas]also besides Time (Kaal)

Karmendriyan (Active Senses)-Eliminating; Reproducing; Moving; Grasping; Speaking

Jnanendriyan (Cognitive Senses)-Smelling; Tasting; Seeing; Touching; Hearing

7)
Cricket-Cricketer (Batsman)’s object should be to hit the ball in proper direction, keeping his wickets safe.
Life-Human being’s object should be to live a decent life by doing his life duties without having attachments  by controlling on Man (Mind) and Indriyas (Senses) through Vivek (Mental Strength/Conscience)

8)(Source: me)
Cricket-A Batsman accumulates ‘Runs’ for his TEAM by putting best efforts and running hard between the Wickets.
Life- A person accumulates ‘material things (money, luxuries etc)’ for his FAMILY by working hard and giving every possible efforts.

9)(Source: me)
Cricket-To assist the Cricketer to play his best, there are many support staff (Batting Coach, Fielding Coach, Trainer etc)
Life-To assist the human being to live his life in the best manner, there are many persons in supportive roles for him (Parents, Friends, Teacher, Mentor etc)

10)
Cricket-When a Bowler’s ball hits the stumps and bails get off, that ends the play of batsman.
Life-When Kaal (Time) gets his death hand on the human being, Pran-Apan Vayu get off ending the play (life) of human being.

11)
Cricket-Even a better than best batsman loses his wicket by getting ‘Run out’ while running between the wickets.
Life-Similarly, A mindful  human being having good behavioural skills and intelligence loses his life by meeting with unfortunate Accidents.

12)
Cricket-When a Batsman’s bat hits his own wickets by mistake/negligence/lack of presence of mind, it is called ‘Hit Wicket Out’.
Life-Similarly, when a human being kills himself due to his non-sense behaviour/lack of mind, it is called ‘Suicide’.

13)
Cricket-Every batsman wish to make a Century (100 runs)
Life-Every human being wish to live for a Century (100 years)

14) (Source: Internet)
Problems in Life are sometimes very fast (unexpected) or sometimes spin (complicated), but we must hit (face the problems) it with the same bat (mental strength/Vivek).

LaSt BuT nOt ThE LeAsT

15)
Cricket-In the game of Cricket, there is one person who observes every action of Cricketer in Crystal-Clear manner; plays very important role in the play but doesn’t participate in the play; Cricketer has to bound by his decisions whether right or wrong.
He is called the UMPIRE

Life-In life, there is one person who observes each & every behavior/act of the human being; plays very important role in all acts of every human being but is not responsible for these acts, Human being has to accept HIS wishes (whether good or not so good for the human being)
He is called the GOD.

Hope you enjoyed the post related to India’s Unofficial National Game and Unrecognized but most Connecting Religion i.e. CRICKET.

Little but Wonderful Book on Financial Wisdom/Personal Finance Management (Must Read......)

Dear Readers,

Wish to share with you a wonderful - little (just 72 page) book on Financial Wisdom that I came across few months back. The Book is titled as “The Richest Man in Babylon” and was published in 1926.

This is a must read book for anyone who is just starting her/his journey of personal finance. Those who want to refresh their knowledge on financial wisdom will also find the book interesting and useful.

This book offers financial advice through collection of simple stories set in ancient city Babylon. (A city in ancient Mesopotamia, founded in 1894 BC.) As on date, Babylon no more exists as a city.

Once it was the wealthiest city in the world despite of fact that it had no rich natural resources-no forests-no mines-even less rainfall.
This fact makes this city an amazing example of man (humanbeing)’s capability and talent to achieve anything as all of its riches were man-made.

Its citizens (Babylonians) were richest people of their time due to their various skills and smartness in financial management. Some history researches say they were the original inventors of money as means of exchange. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_money)

So, let’s learn (re-learn) some Most Basic yet Most Important principles on long-term wealth creation/personal finance from such ancient people’s wisdom.

After reading, you will be amazed to know how true these principles stand today which were practiced thousands of years ago by these intelligent Babylonians.

PS: In this book, there are many words from old English. E.g. Thou for You, Thy for Your, Gold for Money/Wealth etc. So, you have to exercise little bit on English Translation but it’s worth it.

Empty wallet is main cause for most of the worldly problems.

"Money doesn’t solve all of your problems, but it does solve your money problems."

Few HUGS a Day KEEP Many Doctors AWAY

Dear Readers,

Today I am sharing you about a little but wonderful thing 'Hugs'.

Yes, HUGS... receiving-giving of which from/to our loved ones is one the best feelings in the world.
And Now, it's being recognized as a medical therapy too, called 'Hug Therapy' or 'Hugging Therapy'

Medical Research shows that Hugging (and also laughter) is extremely effective at healing many of our present day health related issues such as sickness, emotional disease, loneliness, depression, anxiety and stress.

[Here I want to add one more to Hugging & laughter & that is ‘Sleep’ which also help me a lot whenever I am in ‘OFF mode’. Although I don’t know the reason behind this as it is said that ‘tension to neend uda deti hai...but I must say ‘neend tension ko uda deti hai’ So, try this (Sleep therapy) also.]

Advantage/Benefits of Hugging (What):
Source: Internet

Many advantages. Some are:
Holding a hug for an extended time lifts one's serotonin levels, elevating mood and creating happiness

Hugs strengthen the immune system. The gentle pressure on the sternum and the emotional charge this creates activates the Solar Plexus Chakra. This stimulates the thymus gland, which regulates and balances the body's production of white blood cells, which keep you healthy and disease free.

Hugging relaxes muscles. Hugs release tension in the body. Hugs can take away pain; they soothe aches by increasing circulation into the soft tissues.

Hugs teach us how to give and receive. There is equal value in receiving and being receptive to warmth, as to giving and sharing. Hugs educate us how love flows both ways.

In short,

HUGS
Ease Pain
Induce Sleep
Reduce Stress
Cure Depression
Rejuvenate the Heart
Yet Have No Side Effects.

How Hugging Helps/ Scientific Research behind (Why):
(Very brief as It doesn’t matter much, Just to convince our logical mind as it needs logic/reasons behind every thing/fact to accept...)
Besides mentioned above, one big reason why hugs makes you feel good is that they stimulate the production of oxytocin (a neurotransmitter) that contributes to our sense of connectedness, and as a result, happiness.

How many Hugs on daily basis (How much)
Yes, the Medical research has even quantified a figure for Hugs which must be routinized daily and hug's minimum period.
Minimum No of Hugs is 8 (Eight) and Minimum time for which a Hug should last is 20 seconds., not too much I think looking to benefits derived from Hugs & no. of persons to whom to Hug (listed in last part of this post)

And, even if you are on ‘very tight’ daily schedule,  8 Routine Hugs can be easily done as:
·         Hug your kids/other children in home when they wake up and go to sleep
·         Similarly, Hug your life partner at both times
·         Hug your life partner before leaving for work and after returning back to home
·         Hug your friend whenever you meet during the day

Types of Hugs (How)
There are plenty. Different for different occasions. Different for different relationships.

Anyways, some popular types are given in below images.

To whom Hug (Who)
Read the last portion of this post

And The last 2 Q out of 7 Key Questions (When & Where)
Answer is very simple.

Anytime (even at 2 o'clock after midnight)
Anywhere (even in Hospitals..Remember Jaddu ki Jappi in movie ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’)

So, Start Hugging. If already doing, extend the scope. Besides your lover/spouse, Include-

Children (Don’t just Cuddle the little cutties, Get lots of Hugs from them even if they ‘demand’ something (Choclate etc) in return (very low price for such a wonderful ‘medicine’)

Elders (After ‘Charan-Sparsh’ (Feet-touching)you can Hug them if have informal relation like Bua, Chacha, Mama, Masi, Nani, Dada, Bhaiya-Bhabhi, Jiji-Jijaji etc)

Friends/Bro-Sis (Don’t just ‘Hand-Shake’, Do ‘Shoulder-Shake’ i.e. Hug also. If friend of opposite gender, one can try Half Hug (also known as Side-Hug) if it is comfortable for both (Hug is HALF but benefit is FULL )

Parents  One more benefit of Hugging Parents which I have experienced couple of times-Chance of getting Scolded (quantity-quality of scolding also) by father on your ‘mistakes’ reduces by 50% on just one hug

Last but not the least:

Anyone including Strangers

When in some of life situations, we have nothing appropriate to give to someone; we can at least give our ears (listen his/her life problem with attention) and Sympathy/Consolation in form of Patting on Shoulder and Hugs.

You have a better day when you get hugs

Sometimes, a Hug is all you need to make you feel better.

Ending today's post with my Hugging one-liner....HUG EVERYONE BUG*NONE

* Upset/Annoy

FIVE “THINGS” WITHOUT WHICH I CAN’T LIVE....

Here I am not talking about things every human being and living creature on this earth must need to survive viz Air, Water, Food, Shelter (Home) etc..

By the title, I mean to say that every person has some interests or love for some ‘things’ or give importance to some peoples/things in his/her life to so much extent that without these ‘things’, he/she can’t imagine life.

Today, I am sharing such ‘list’ of mine in no particular order:

Females (The Best Creation of God in a number of forms viz Mother, Grand Maa, Sisters, Female Friends, Aunts, Life Partner, Daughters etc),

Books (The Best Non-living Investment),

Friends (The Best Living Investment),

Music (The Connector of Mind-Body-Soul),

Children (Living Toys Gifted By God/Nature), and

KRISHNA (My God-Friend, The Universal Creator, The Supreme Power)

That was my list. What is yours'? Please share in comments section...

Stop CHARITY......Start "HUMANITY" (Provide Opportunity, Not Charity)

Dear Readers,

What would we normally do when we come across some needy person?

Perhaps we all would try to help the needy person as per his needs and our ability and donate her/him Foods/Clothes/Money etc
But after this, we all must have thought that If only we had some better option to serve this needy human being.

Actually,

People in need want ‘not charity, but a chance’A chance to get Education; A chance to start Business Enterprise, A Chance to prove their worth as human being.

This chance is provided through Humanity i.e. Human’s Help to Human/Social Help/Social Investment.

Let’s come back to our earlier point of ‘Better Option’ to serve needy person.
Now, suppose instead of donating Rs. 500/- to that needy person, you join hands with other 9-10 persons, collect Rs. 5,000/-  by taking refundable loan of Rs. 500/- from each and handover the sum to the needy person who want to use this money for his micro business (viz Vegetable Vending, Kirana, Dairy farming etc) to increase her/his family’s monthly income by Rs. 2K-4K.

The human help/social investment in form of Loan of Rs. 5,000/- will be repaid by the needy person along with interest in next 50-60 weeks.

Thus, this option (humanity) is better over earlier option (charity) due to:
·        Charity is short-term, focused on temporary relief while Humanity is long-term, focused on root cause of problem
·        Charity is ‘Giving’, hurts self-esteem of the receiver while Humanity is ‘Doing’, provides Chance to the receiver to prove himself.

Now, after all these reading, what should we do? We should search for opportunity for doing humanity/making social investment. And what to say.... when we can to all this at comfort of our home, in hassle free manner, without much time consuming.

Here comes the Purpose of this Post:

RangDe.Org is regd Non-profit Organisation, providing Micro-credit to needy Indians @ fair interest rate and provides us an online platform to make social investment.
You can start making donation social investment as low as Rs. 100/- and this is refundable (along with low interest, if you wish).

PS: Here 'Stop Charity' doesn't mean that Charity should not be done, Charity has its own importance in providing immediate (even if temporary) relief to needy persons. We should however also focus on Providing Opportunity whether in form of Social Loans (t/h RangDe.org or Direct/Offline) or donations for starting micro-business/education or helping needy person to learn suitable skills for self-employment or job.
