Forms of Wealth....(Ashta Lakshmi)

Goddess Lakshmi is the Mother of all forms of wealth and prosperity. It is only through divinity of character that we can attain her blessings. According to Hindu mythology there are eight forms of Lakshmi, which is more popularly known as Ashta Lakshmi. These eight forms of Lakshmi represent eight different forms of wealth in the form of money, vehicles, prosperity, courage, patience, health, knowledge and children.
Adi Lakshmi- 'Adi' means eternal. This form of the Goddess signifies the never ending or eternal nature of the Goddess. It is also the most ancient form of Lakshmi where all life originates in her womb.
Dhana Lakshmi- Dhana Lakshmi is one of forms of Lakshmi who presides over wealth and money. This form of Ashta Lakshmi is also known as Vaibhav Lakshmi in some parts of India. She is the Goddess of money and gold, the most usual ways in which we perceive wealth.
Dhairya Lakshmi- 'Dhairya' means patience. Worshipping Dhairya Lakshmi gives us the strength to endure all the hardships of our lives with patience. Goddess Lakshmi in this form grants us the boon to handle tough times by proper planning and strategy.
Santan Lakshmi- ‘Santan’ means children. Children are our wealth and the basic unit of a family This Goddess blesses people with the wealth of hale and hearty children.
Gaja Lakshmi- ‘Gaj' means elephant. This form of Lakshmi symbolises the wealth of vehicles and mobility.
Vidya Lakshmi- 'Vidya' means knowledge. Here Devi Lakshmi is the Goddess of education, knowledge and skills. To acquire all kinds of knowledge and skills, one must devotedly worship Vidya Lakshmi.
Vijay Lakshmi- 'Vijay' means victory. Vijay Lakshmi is one of those forms of Goddess Lakshmi who blesses human beings with courage, fearlessness and victory in all spheres of their life. This form of wealth strengthens our character and makes us successful in all our ventures.
Dhanya Lakshmi- ‘Dhanya’ means grains. Worshipping this form of the Goddess is necessary to obtain food and remain nourished. She is the Goddess of harvest and grains. Harvest also means the inner harvest of good qualities that can make us immortal through our good deeds.
